With a great repertoire of folk music of Bengal and north-eastern India, Dohar started its journey in the world of music in 1999. Along with the rustic vis-à-vis melodious folk songs of different genres like baul, bhatiyali,bhawayia, chatka, jhumur, jari, shari, murshidi, holi, agamoni-bijoya, festive-song etc.

Dohar use to play all rare and ethnic folk instruments of various types and regions, like, dhol-dhak-mridanga-dhamsa-madol (drums), banshi-shinga-pepa-shankha (flutes), sarinda(bowing), ektara-dotara-soraj-anandalahori (stroke string), dubki-kartal-kansar-ghungur-dafli (percussions) etc.
